About Ascent Vision
Ascent Vision is a U.S. based technology company specializing in precision technologies for the manned and unmanned aerospace industry. In particular, Ascent manufactures and distributes best-in-class Gimbal systems throughout the Americas and Africa. Ascent also designs and manufactures integration mounts and proprietary software programs for its full line of Gimbals. In addition to aerial applications, Ascent pursues integration of its systems into ground-based vehicles, maritime vessels, and other platforms benefiting from Gyro Stabilized camera systems. Ascent Vision starts 2017 with success selling into the industries of aviation, self driving cars, counter UAS systems and ground based military applications.
Based in Bozeman, Montana, Ascent Vision enjoys a unique geographical advantage due to its proximity to some of the worlds leading photonics companies as well as Montana State University. MSU is a highly regarded technical center for Aerospace Engineering, UAV Development, and Laser Optics research.
Meet the Team
Tim Sheehy - Chief Executive Officer
Tim is delighted to lead the Ascent Vision team on a daily basis and spearhead its continued growth. Prior to founding Ascent Vision, Tim served as President and CEO of Bridger Aerospace, a cutting edge aerial service provider, leading its growth into a multi-million dollar aviation service company for various government and private clients. Tim is an active pilot with Commercial and Flight Instructor ratings. He also serves on the advisory board of Beartooth Radio and continues to serve as President of Bridger Aerospace. Tim transitioned to the private sector after a successful career as a Naval Officer where he completed several overseas deployments in support of named and contingency operations. He is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.
Lee Dingman - Senior Vice President, Business Development
Lee joined the Ascent Vision team after a successful career in medical sales management and military leadership. Most recently, he was the National Sales Manager for a division of the Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation, the largest human tissue bank in the world. Prior to MTF, he spent a number of years in the field successfully selling and consulting on surgical implants with the Depuy Synthes Companies of Johnson & Johnson. His service to our nation includes multiple military qualifications, an overseas deployment, and leadership instruction at the U.S. Naval Academy. He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy, is an active pilot, and holds Instrument and Commercial MEL and SES ratings. He has been involved with the ISR industry since 2012.
Sam Beck - Chief Technology Officer
Sam serves as the Chief Technology Officer for Ascent Vision Technologies. He is responsible for the technical direction of the company and the management of the Engineering staff. Prior to becoming CTO, Sam was the Chief Engineer for Bridger Aerospace, spearheading the technological aspects of that company which has grown into a multi-million dollar aviation service provider. Sam is a former Nuclear Submarine Officer and Instructor at the U.S. Navy Nuclear Power school in Charleston SC. He is a graduate of Columbia University in New York with a degree in Electrical Engineering.
Sam Paris - Vice President
Sam joined the Ascent Vision team in 2016 as the Director of Special Programs and has been the focused development advisor for our most critical programs. He also oversees the Counter UAS, Energy, and Automotive portfolios for Ascent Vision. Prior to joining the Ascent team, Sam worked for American Energy partners after serving as a U.S. Navy Intelligence officer assigned to the Navy SEALs. Sam holds a BA from Yale University and an MBA from UCLA.
Joel Pineiro - Director of Operations
As Director of Operations, Joel handles the daily oversight of the engineering and production team and spearheads our contracting and supply chain management functions. Joel comes from a distinguished career in technical and government program management and contracting. Prior to his business career, Joel served as a US Marine Intelligence specialist, completing several specialized training courses to include multiple foreign languages. He is a certified Aircraft Dispatcher, a graduate of the Defense Language Institute, St. Petersburg College, and a Certificate holder from Stanford University.
Ben Keeley - Lead Systems Engineer
As lead systems engineer, Ben coordinates the client integration process across multiple engineering verticals in the company. He is the lead point of contact for technical sales matters and ensures the engineering team is kept abreast of client platform issues. Ben is a graduate of Montana State University with a degree in electrical engineering.
Mike Tragiai - Lead Project Engineer
As Lead Project Engineer, Mike is responsible for coordinating the Project Engineer team and ensuring custom integration projects are progressing as planned. Additionally he oversees the production staff and ensures the daily engineering activities at Ascent Vision are running smoothly. Mike joined the Ascent Team with experience in injection molding, mechanical engineering technology and product design. He is a graduate of Montana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology.
Zach Hargrove - Mechanical Engineer
Weston Irr - Integrated Systems Manager
As the Integrated Systems Manager for the Ascent Vision team, Wes is chiefly responsible for client integration, training, and support. As a critical component provider, Ascent recognizes the value of effusive customer support and Wes ensures the company maintains excellent teamwork with our platform partners. Prior to Ascent Vision, Wes spent 10 years as UAV pilot for the U.S. Army, completing multiple deployments overseas operating various UAV Platforms to include the Grey Eagle and Shadow. Wes completed his career at the vaunted 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, where he was both a field operator and subsequently a senior trainer for the next generation of SOF UAV pilots.

Mike Bailey is the Founder and CEO of UAV Vision Pty. LTD, Ascent Visions international technology partner. Mike has decades of experience in the design and implementation of Aerial Camera systems and was recognized with an Academy Award for his outstanding Aerial Camera design.
Kevin McDonnell - Advisory Board Member
Kevin McDonnell serves as the Senior Advisory Board-member of Ascent Vision Technologies. Kevin's expertise in international relations, military policy and defense technologies makes him a valuable asset to the Ascent team. Hailing from North Carolina, Kevin was commissioned as an Army officer in 1982 and went on to serve a nearly 30 year career in the US Army Special Forces Regiment, commanding at every level to include group command at the 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) and command of an overseas joint task force in Iraq. Kevin holds graduate degrees from the The Naval War College and the National War College. He also serves as an executive and advisor for various veterans focused charities and non profit organizations.
Stephen Zinda - Advisory Board Member
Stephen Zinda serves as an Advisory Board Member of Ascent Vision Technologies. He brings a broad base of experience from leadership positions with general aviation OEMs and military units. Stephen retired from the United States Air Force in 2000, attaining the highest enlisted rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He has held positions of increasing responsibility with Raytheon Aircraft Company, HawkerBeechcraft Corporation, Honda Aircraft Company, and Quest Aircraft Company. Stephen holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
